second opinion
When one receives a diagnosis or an indication for treatment for a serious illness, it is important to seek a second opinion in order to deal with a delicate phase of one’s life with full awareness.
To meet this need, MDConcierge has activated the Second Opinion service aimed at a general assessment of the patient by an internist, followed by a consultation with a highly qualified specialist, including an international one, who possesses the best skills to manage the clinical case. The internist closes the process by ensuring a complete and clear follow-up of the entire situation and of the prescribed therapy, helping the person make the most difficult decisions.
SECOND OPINION: WRITTEN CONSULTATION
MDConcierge offers a Second Opinion service in written form, well structured and organised in a few simple steps:
1. CONTACT AND INTAKE to request the service: your request will be taken care of within one working day. Our team will be happy to provide you with all the information, and to send you the forms you need to fill out and sign to activate the service.
2. DIGITAL MEDICAL RECORD: Once the completed and signed documentation has been received, the MDConcierge team will open your Digital Medical Record which you can always access from any device. As soon as you receive the notice of activation by e-mail, we will ask you to upload all your clinical documentation from the most recent examinations up to the onset of the disease for which you want to receive our second opinion.
3. ASSESSMENT: At this point, the MDConcierge Tutor Physician, an internist, will make an initial assessment of your clinical case to draw up an accurate and complete medical history, including all your clinical history and risk factors;
4. THE SPECIALIST: The MDConcierge Internist will then identify the most suitable Specialist to handle your request, and will interface with him/her to provide all the most useful details about your clinical case.
5. THE WRITTEN CONSULTATION: The Specialist, after a discussion with the Internist, and after a thorough assessment of your clinical documentation, will carry out his remote consultation and produce a complete written report with his authoritative opinion.
6. FOLLOW UP: At the end of the process, after your Second Opinion report has been uploaded to the Digital Medical Record, in the “Reports” section, the MDConcierge Tutor Physician will be at your disposal to provide any explanations on the clinical indications received.
SECOND OPINION: VIDEO CONSULTATION
The alternative to a written consultation is the request for a more comprehensive video visit second opinion, which involves the following simple steps:

As soon as you receive the notice of activation by e-mail, we will ask you to upload all your clinical documentation, from the most recent examinations up to the onset of the disease for which you want to receive our second opinion.
3. ASSESSMENT: At this point, an initial video visit will be scheduled with an MDConcierge Internist, who will make an initial assessment of your clinical case to draw up
an accurate and complete medical history, including all your clinical history and risk factors.
4. THE SPECIALIST: The MDConcierge Internist will then identify the most suitable Specialist to handle your request, and will interface with him/her to provide all the most useful details about your clinical case.
5. THE VIDEO VISIT: Your discussion with the Specialist will take place via a video visit, so that you can interface directly and ask any questions you consider important. The Specialist will finally produce a complete written report with his authoritative opinion.

In general, we would like to point out that the Specialist, when assessing your case, may consider other steps important, such as reviewing diagnostic images, reviewing slides or suggesting further in-depth diagnostic examinations, always with the aim of obtaining all the information necessary to give you complete and precise clinical indications.
In this case, the MDConcierge team will contact you to provide all the necessary information.
